about me....
I teach in a 4/5 loop class which means I have my students for both 4th & 5th grade. Having students for two years enables me to have amazing relationships with students and their families. Students learn right away that our classroom is a safe place to take risks, to fail, and to celebrate success.
I've never been a "conventional" teacher. I don't believe in giving busy work for homework. Instead, I assign projects where students learn how to develop their creative side. Students need to plan, create, test, and rework their weekly projects. Every Friday, students practice their public speaking skills by presenting their projects to the class. Students start out the year with very limited imaginations, but quickly let go of the "what if I get it wrong" attitude and just "go for it!" Students weekly impress not only me, but also one another with their creativity.
