Last week we made turkey decorations for Thanksgiving. First, we cut the bodies out of paper bags donated by Sunshine. We made the legs, the beak and the eyes out of construction paper. We cut out the heads from red construction paper. Finally, we made a sign for our turkey that persuaded you to eat something other than turkey. Mine said, “Eat more mashed potatoes!”
This week we typed our last week’s homework paragraph on the Chromebooks using Google docs.
Today we helped Mrs. Becker’s 3rd graders learn how to weave. We had to put string around a frame. Next, we had to put the pick-up stick over and under the strings. And then you had to lift up the pick-up stick so it made a shed that the shuttle goes through. It was fun helping the 3rd graders.
This afternoon we had Team Time. We had to figure out what kind of gifts to get a nurse, a soldier, a professional athlete, and a cheerleader. The point of the lesson was to be open-minded. At first everyone thought that the nurse was a woman but it turned out that the nurse was a man. We learned to be open-minded when it came to jobs because men can be nurses as well as women.
