I've had a wonderful summer. I spent 10 glorious days on the island of Turks & Caicos. I read, swam, sailed, napped, walked, kayaked, and snorkeled. It was the perfect way to start my summer vacation.
I also attended the Greater Good Science Center’s (GGSC) Summer Institute for Educators @ UC Berkeley. It was one of the best and most rewarding conferences I’ve attended in years. There were 150 education professionals - from pre-K through university level - from over 22 states and Washington DC, and 15 countries from 5 continents in attendance at this week-long institute. We were all there to learn how to integrate the science of happiness, meaning, and well-being into education. I can’t wait to implement some of the mindfulness strategies I learned during this inspiring week.
I’m refreshed and recharged and look forward to seeing Room 19’s new students on Wednesday, August 19th!
